Stand for Something.
Teachers deserve our full support, public schools require adequate and reliable funding, and the middle class needs meaningful economic relief.
Meanwhile, predatory gambling operations are extracting hard‑earned dollars from working families, and large, resource‑intensive data centers are increasingly encroaching on our communities.
Forge Ahead.
Wisconsin’s state motto is one word: “Forward.” Not “Forward until it gets hard.” Not “Forward until there’s too much to overcome.”
We have to believe our best days are still ahead of us. It will be a long road, and it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Every step we take towards the future we choose is one step less for those who come after us.
No more time to waste. It’s not too late. We won’t be afraid to forge ahead.
A Fresh Voice.
Real Results.
Time for Change.
My priorities are: strengthen public education, restore economic security for working families, and protect Wisconsin’s resources and communities.
I will prioritize meaningful investments in our public schools to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education. That includes competitive compensation and professional support for teachers, modern classroom resources, and expanded access to nutritious meals for all students.
I will pursue policies that lower the cost of living for middle-class families, from affordable childcare and prescription drug relief to common-sense tax and fee reforms. I will also champion stronger workplace protections, collective bargaining rights, and wages that reflect the value of work.
I will establish responsible oversight of large data center development to ensure that critical resources—especially water and energy—are allocated fairly and serve Wisconsin families first. New projects must meet rigorous environmental, infrastructure, and community-impact standards.
I will move to prohibit predatory gambling apps and strengthen consumer protections to prevent technologies that prey on vulnerable households and drain the savings of hard-working Wisconsinites.
These proposals reflect a commitment to practical, accountable leadership that puts families and communities first, and supports our public institutions.
Who is Matt Philibert?
I was born in Fort Myers, Florida. My father is from New York and my mother was from Wisconsin. Every summer we would drive up here and stay in a duplex that was shared with my aunt.
I moved up here on my own in 2012 to attend Madison College where I earned a Certificate for Therapeutic Massage. I also have an Associate’s degree from Florida SouthWestern State (formerly Edison Community College) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University.
I currently live in Colgate with my wife, Elissa and our four children, Ethan, Stella, Oliver, and August.
I have done a little bit of everything, including working for three great Wisconsin-born companies; Kwik Trip, Colectivo Coffee, and American Family Insurance.
I’ve been a barista, a massage therapist, an insurance agent, a kitchen manager, a clinic manager, an animal care health and safety expert, and a dad. I’m adaptable, a fast learner, and nothing can scare me. Most recently, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Serving the people of District 98 and the rest of Wisconsin is my next great project.
